OptionsPilot is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS app and website (collectively, the “Service”).
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address and display name when you create an account.
- Portfolio data: options positions, alerts, journal entries, and settings you enter.
- Usage data: app interactions, feature usage, and crash logs for improving the Service.
- Device information: device type, OS version, and device identifiers for compatibility and analytics.
- Subscription status: anonymized purchase status and product identifier (received from Apple) to gate premium features.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Sync your data across your devices.
- Send notifications and price alerts you have configured.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the Service (Apple for purchases, Supabase for storage, Superwall for paywall logic, Microsoft Clarity for product analytics) and when required by law or to protect our rights.
Market Data
Stock and options price data is obtained from third-party providers. Your portfolio information is not shared with these providers; only public stock symbols are used to fetch public market data.
Your Rights
- Access: request a copy of your data.
- Correction: update inaccurate information.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and data.
- Export: download your portfolio data as CSV.
- Opt-out: disable optional analytics in app settings.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., for tax and accounting purposes related to subscription purchases).
Children's Privacy
OptionsPilot is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
International Users
OptionsPilot is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the “Last updated” date above.
